May 5-11 – Teacher Appreciation Week

May 6 (Saturday)- CLAL Track Meet at Mullen High School – 9:00am-3:00pm

May 12- No School

May 26- Last Day of School

The CLAL Track Meet is tomorrow, Saturday, May 6 at Mullen High School- 3601 S Lowell Blvd, Denver, CO 80236Our school hosts this event, and our SSC will run the concessions stand. A menu, a map of event locations, and an event schedule are all attached with today’s email.   The first events begin at 9:00am.  So an 8:45am arrival time would be advised.  A schedule of events and times is attached with today’s memo. Students should wear the track meet shirts provided.  Remember to bring sunscreen and water bottles!

The SSC is hosting Teacher Appreciation Week, next week! A special email was sent out regarding the week on Wednesday, May 3. There are also flyers located around the school. All families are invited to participate by showing our exceptional teachers some love!

On Monday, May 1, you received an email from our tuition management company, TADS. The email will prompt you to accept your 2023-2024 Zion LS tuition agreement. If you have applied for Grant in Aid or ACE (FACTS) and you receive a grant, those funds will be credited to your TADS as soon as Zion LS is notified of the award. As in years past, if tuition is paid in full within the month of May, you will be given an extra 10% discount. If you have any questions, please direct them to Anne Saggau in the school office.

Registration for this summer’s Zion Vacation Bible School is now open! You can register by scanning the QR code on the VBS flyer or by calling the office. This year’s VBS- Splash Canyon- runs from Monday, June 5, to Thursday, June 8, from 9-11:30am. All children ages 4-11 are welcome to attend.

Our chapel offering this week was $20.96.  Our total offerings this semester are $347.63.  We will support our Ukrainian Lutheran Church.

Family Devotion Time is such a blessing not only for children , but also parents.  Here is a link to family devotions that are published 3 times a week.  On this page, you can also choose to have them delivered to your email account.  (This can be a great reminder for doing these on a regular basis.)  May God bless your time spent in devotions together!

Preschool will be taking a field trip to the Children’s Museum on Wednesday, May 10th. Remember that both students and chaperones are free to attend, however it is $10 per sibling. Please make sure to give payment to Mrs. Monday by Monday, May 8th. Please remember to meet at the Children’s Museum by the Group Entrance (left side of the building) at 8:30-8:45am. We will be going on a field trip to either Golden Gate State Park on Tuesday, May 16.  We will leave school after confirmation class, drive to the park, check out the visitor’s center, have a picnic lunch- something grilled, do a hike to an old homestead with a pond, check out some other interesting parts of the park, and return to school. Please let me know if you would like to drive and join us for the day!
