Zion’s School Support Committee (SSC) is hosting a “Back to School Skate Night” on Monday, September 25, from 4:00-6:00pm at Skate City in Littleton. This is a great way to mingle with other families in the school and get to know one another. The cost is $7 per skater (spectators don’t have to pay to get in), $4 roller skate rentals. Pay at the door. There will be Meal Deals for purchase at Skate City ($5 per meal deal). See the flyer for more details. Hope to see everyone there!

For the soccer tournament next Friday, September 29, the soccer team and siblings will be released from school at 3:00 in order to make the trip across town and have an opportunity to warm up before the game starts at 4:30.  Mr. Schaefer will stay with the students not on the team until the regular pick up time.

The Zion Panther Exceptional Citizen Award is something our school hands out to one student from Kindergarten through 2nd grade and one student from grades 3-8 at different points in the school year.  The faculty reaches a decision on who the student at each level will be based on outstanding  kindness and respect shown to others, politeness, doing helpful things without being prompted, and having an eagerness to assist the teacher and others in and out of the classroom.  Please understand that this is not a contest.  Not one student is perfect in these areas.  However, the Apostle Paul does encourage God’s people in Galatians 6:10- “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” We also want to encourage and recognize that in our students.  The choice of students is a difficult one as God has blessed us with children who more often than not let the light of Jesus shine in their lives. The students chosen for this part of this year are: K-2 Nova Miskoviak and 3rd-8th Sophia Krause.  They will be recognized and receive a certificate after chapel next Friday.

RML Oktoberfest- Guten Tag! Come one, come all! Join in the fun at RML Oktoberfest 2023 and Gym Groundbreaking Ceremony on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 3:00-6:00 pm. The day will kick off the afternoon with the gym groundbreaking (bring a shovel!) Following the ceremony, there will be  live music from the Margarita Brothers, a concessions stand, a bouncy slide, face painting, and games galore for the young and for the young at heart. So clear your calendars, break out your lederhosen or dust off your dirndl, and join us for some Gemuetlichkeit (good cheer!) Auf Wiedersehen – see you soon!
